Relationship Q&A
How did you guys meet?
We met when I was called out to do a home staging job at his old home in Southport in October 2009
How long have you been together?
We got together officially on our very first date 30th December 2009, and married/CP’d on 27th August 2010
Was it love at first sight or did it take a few dates?
I knew I was going to marry him the moment I met him, he just hits every mark for me.
How long did you date before you lived together?
Rob had to sell his house, and his ex was being obstinate so eventually when I got involved, changed agents etc it sold, but he had moved most of his stuff in with me at the end of March 2010
What is it about your partner that attracted you so much?
His smile, lush beard and well everything
Do you have common interests?
We love fine wine and dining, Rob loves to cook and I love eating. We are sociable types and enjoy going out, being stuck in watching crap American shows just isn’t us, there is a world out there and we want to be in it. We are compatible in every way, and Rob’s Stress points aren’t mine and visa versa so we manage to calm each other down if anything gets difficult.
Do you each have an interest that the other has none in?
Rob likes Sci Fi and I’m not keen, I adore Trashy fiction, Rob will read it (only if there isn’t anything else around)
What’s the secret to your successful relationship?
HONESTY & COMMUNICATION. We never row, we want the same things. We don’t have arguments, no flinging things at each other or fling ourselves face down onto a bed in a teenage tantrum. Talking to each other about everything, no hidden agendas or lies. That’s where relationships fail.
Any advice for a dating couple?
Open your mind. Be yourself, don’t lie to impress the other, don’t pretend to be something you aren’t. If you have tried your best and you find yourself constantly complaining about your partner with friends this is the death march of a relationship.
If it’s not working after trying really hard, draw a line under it and finish it.
