Writing Success

It all happened quite suddenly a facebook pal posted a link that an editor was looking for a piece of work I had a look at the assignment and though, ‘I can do that.’ So in a couple of hours hammered out 2000 words, read, re-edited, and then sent it off.

When we returned from having dinner out, there sat in my email in box was a submission approval and acceptance! I think I may have found my writers voice, it’s taken many years but now I feel that Jedi like Zen feeling when I’m parked in front of my MacBook, my fingers dance across the keyboard and the text appears upon the screen. It’s similar to doing my 100 laps in the swimming pool, I get into the zone and off I go, only stopping if I get cramp.

I was working on a short piece for an Australian anthology, which I’m returning to today, I have in my mind what I want to take the story but it just wasn’t flowing, so now, I’m sidelining that idea and cranking out one I’ve been mulling over for a few weeks, so lets see if that works out as well…. I’ll keep you posted.
